Big Dreams Children’s Foundation is now raising funds to bring Phil and Dennis to the United States to undergo medical exams and treatment at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
Phil is a 14 year old boy with arthogryposis, a condition with congenital joint contractures in two or more areas of the body, living at the Dmitrov Orphanage for Children with Disabilities. Due to his condition Phil cannot operate or even sit comfortably in his wheelchair. He hardly ever leaves the orphanage. Here at Big Dreams, we believe in a more fulfilling life for Phil. We are certain that his condition permits significant improvements in his quality of life and highly experienced specialists at TSRH can accomplish that once Phil arrives in Dallas.
Dennis is a 20 year old young man who has suffered serious burn injuries caused by his parents smoking in bed while under the influence of alcohol. He was very lucky to survive, however his life has changed forever. His both arms had to be amputated. his left leg is also severely injured and deformed. Dennis' parents lost custody over him and he is living at the orphanage. Dennis is in need of surgery for his left leg. After studying his condition TSRH has committed to treating Dennis to save his joints from irreversible damage confining him to a wheelchair if left untreated.
In addition to covering all travel expenses for Phil, Dennis, and 2 chaperones (a nurse and a strong male handler to assist in lifting and moving Phil), the funds raised at this time will go toward a custom made electric wheelchair for Phil.
