USA: Jonathan's Place

In November 2014, Big Dreams Children’s Foundation visited Jonathan’s Place, an emergency shelter in Dallas, TX that provides a safe haven for children who have experienced severe abuse, neglect, or abandonment. In addition to a secure place to live, every child receives comprehensive care, including medical and dental exams, developmental and psychological assessments, and ongoing individual and group therapy, while continuing their education in a stable, supportive environment.

Despite the critical nature of this work, state funding covers only a portion of the true cost of care, approximately 47 cents for every dollar needed leaving a significant gap that must be met through community support. Recognizing this need, Jonathan’s Place reached out to Big Dreams Children’s Foundation for help in funding their specialized programs, which play a vital role in each child’s recovery and long-term well-being.

Moved by their mission, Big Dreams has contributed over $11,000 to directly support the programs at Jonathan’s Place helping ensure children receive the care, stability, and hope they deserve.
